The Environmental Science and Policy Program at Drake University seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Urban Sustainability with a 3/3 teaching load. Candidates with backgrounds in Urban Planning, Urban Ecology, Urban Geography, or related environmental fields are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have ArcGIS experience and a strong desire to engage with stakeholders in the city of Des Moines, as well as possess a PhD or ABD in a related field is required. Candidates must be proficient with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at a level that will allow them to teach both an introductory-level and advanced-level course.
Candidates must have a professional background that allows them to do research in and about sustainability in urban environments, preferably with a spatial component.
A PhD or ABD status in a related field is required.
Candidates must demonstrate an interest in engaging with the local community in their work.
