This is a full time, tenure track position in the Behavioral Sciences Department and a core faculty member of the Cultural and Geospatial Studies (Anthropology and Geography) program within the College of Arts and Humanities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Teach a variety of undergraduate courses including Introduction to Anthropology, Southeastern Archeology, and upper division courses within the Cultural and Geospatial Studies and Ozark and Ouachita Studies programs.
Develop additional courses matching the candidate's expertise with program curriculum. Effectively advise and mentor students Engage students in high impact learning practices Develop a sustainable scholarship program, including seeking external funds Provide meaningful service to the department, college, university, and profession Engage in assessment and continuous improvement of courses Perform other duties assigned by the Department Head
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a history of working effectively with colleagues
Minimum Requirements: Ph.D (or ABD with expected completion date by December 31, 2019)
Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in archaeology with work focus on the southeastern US Willingness to develop internships and/or field schools Experience teaching undergraduates Evidence of peer-reviewed
