The Center for Sustainability Studies at Bemidji State University invites applications for tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level with a primary focus on GIS and a secondary focus on Physical Geography.
The candidate will teach a total of four courses a semester
Each semester the candidate will teach Introductory and Intermediate GIS, an introductory course in Physical Geography and/or Physical Geography
The candidate will engage in Academic Advising
The candidate will engage in scholarly research
A Master's Degree in Geography
Experience teaching GIS, Physical Geography, Biogeography, and Landscape Ecology in a four-year High Educational setting.
Experience Teaching both online and face-to-face.
Ability to develop a research agenda that incorporates and undergraduate students and connect to issues relevant to Northern Minnesota.
Ph.D. in Geography
The ability to teach field-based courses
Ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate research.
Relevant non-academic and/or professional experience.
Candidates should have experience working with classroom technology and innovative teaching.
Demonstrated experience working with and/or interest working with students and colleagues from multi-cultural and diverse backgrounds and using culturally responsive pedagogy and practice
