Teach Geography courses such as Physical Geography and Human Geography.
Use emerging best practices in content delivery, course design, assessment, and student engagement and success.
Demonstrate dedication to excellence in teaching and have the desire to participate in a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community.
Continue the professionalism of an active scholar, participate in departmental and campus-wide committees, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission.
Teach classes that may meet on campus, at off-campus sites, during daytime hours, in the evenings, on weekends, or online.
Communicate and collaborate with department faculty and staff.
Master's degree with a major in geography, or
Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in geography.
Experience teaching at a community college.
Experience with multiple areas of the discipline such as physical geography and GIS
Demonstrated use of interactive, inquiry-based pedagogies in the classroom.
Demonstrated innovative use of assessment techniques.
Demonstrated ability to thrive working with diverse communities.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the bargaining unit agreement. Entry-level range is $43,503 - $62,301 for a nine-month academic year, plus excellent benefits.
Full-time, unlimited faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance (95% employer paid single premium or 90% employer paid family premium); life insurance; optional dental, short-and long-term disability and long-term care insurance; paid personal and sick leave; defined benefits and defined contribution (401(a) retirement plans); tuition waiver for employees and dependents; and optional 457 and 403(b) retirement savings plans.
Under the collective bargaining agreement with the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF), new faculty to the system receive a salary placement based on education and related experience after a job offer is accepted. The maximum salary at hire is $62,301 per academic year, depending on education and experience.
