The Department of History and Geography at Elon University seeks applicants for a continuing-track position in Chinese history (Qing dynasty to the present preferred) at the assistant professor level beginning in mid-August 2020. Applicants must demonstrate both excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level as well as strong scholarly potential. PhD in history is required, as are strong language skills in their field of research. Teaching will include: introductory and upper-division courses in their specialization, World in the Twentieth Century, and classes in the Elon Core Curriculum. Interest in teaching study-abroad classes is desirable. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in history by August 1, 2020.
