FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Latin American and Caribbean Studies Unit of the Humanities Department at Hostos Community College (CUNY) invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning January 2020. We seek a scholar with a specialization in Caribbean History or Latin American and Caribbean History with intersectional interests in fields of Political Science/ Political Economy, Sociology, Geography, or Cultural Studies. We are open to a variety of theoretical and disciplinary approaches and encourage scholars with graduate training, and with research and teaching interests in the following research areas, to apply: critical race theory, Decolonial Studies, Black Atlantic studies, Im/Migration/ Diaspora Studies, and/or Women's, Gender, and Sexuality studies.
The selected candidate must be prepared to teach courses addressing the history, political developments and political economy, social and racial issues, and cultural diversity of Caribbean and Latin American peoples and their diasporas. These LAC courses are often part of the
