Environmental Studies Department: Lecturer Pool (Ongoing)
The Environmental Studies Department [https://envs.ucsc.edu/] at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time Lecturers who may be appointed to teach courses in the following areas: natural history, climate change biology, chemistry, landscape ecology, tropical ecology, animal ecology, pest management, agroecology and food systems, ornithology, entomology, conservation biology, restoration ecology, plant ecology, plant disease ecology, soil biology, wetland ecology, environmental policy, environmental economics, water processes and policy, environmental writing, political ecology, political economy, geography, energy politics and policy, environmental law, coastal policy, environmental risks and vulnerability, environmental justice, and environmental art.
The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and other assigned duties.
ACADEMIC TITLE Lecturer
SALARY Commensurate with qualifications and experience and the particular courses the Lecturer is appointed to teach. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree or higher (or equivalent foreign degree) in environmental studies or a related field at the time of application; or a bachelor's degree (or equivalent foreign degree) and a Certificate in Science Illustration at the time of application.
POSITION AVAILABLE Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.
