UCSF School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics The Department of Pediatrics at the UCSF School of Medicine is seeking a Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hematology. This individual will lead a cross-institutional initiative to advance research, education and treatment with the goal of developing a Center of Excellence in Hematologic Disorders. The successful candidate will be an internationally recognized leader in the field of childhood hematologic disorders. The appointment will be made at the Associate Professor or Professor rank in the Clinical X or In-Residence series, depending on the candidate’s background and career goals. The candidate must be board-certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology with demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines. The ideal candidate will have significant program development and management expertise with a strong background in clinical team operations and innovative research in the field of non-malignant hematology. Patients with hematologic disorders are currently seen at four UCSF locations: Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, UCSF Mission Bay/San Francisco, UCSF Parnassus, and the integrated adult/pediatric clinical center at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. Research is conducted at all campuses, as well as through collaborations with University of California at Berkeley, the Innovative Genomics Institute and, the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine supported Alpha Stem Cell Clinic Network. UCSF is the coordinating center for NIH-supported hemoglobinopathy consortiums for 13 Western states. Both the Oakland and Mission Bay campuses run comprehensive hematology oncology fellowship programs that have successfully focused on training basic, translational, and clinician scientists. The Director will benefit from substantial institutional resources to expand our current strong interdisciplinary clinical, research, and education programs. Appointments will be made at the Associate or Professor rank in the Clinical X or In Residence series.
