The Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) in Anchorage, Alaska seeks a fellowship trained Palliative Care Physician to join our growing team. As a Level II Trauma Center, with over 30 medical specialties, ANMC serves as the tertiary referral center for the Alaska Native and American Indian people from across the state. Our unique patient population, cohesive team and breathtaking geography make this a one-of-a-kind practice opportunity!
As a hospital based practice serving adult and pediatric patients, you will join our interdisciplinary Palliative Care Team in providing care in the inpatient setting, playing an active role in symptom and pain management and providing provide expert level consultative services, utilizing our world renowned telemedicine system, Alaska Federal Access Health Care Network – www.afhcan.org. Additionally, you will facilitate training at regional facilities throughout the Alaska Tribal Health System, employing the innovative the innovative Project ECHO® model, with the opportunity to teach medical students, residents, palliative care fellows and other ancillary staff.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday; 8 hour shifts; telephone evening and weekend coverage to support existing patients with potential full weekend coverage in the future.
Qualifications: Completion of Palliative Care Fellowship; BC/BE in Palliative Care; flexible, adaptable, team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to deliver ongoing education to primary care providers; prior Palliative Care experience preferred.
