Fayetteville Academy seeks a dynamic History teacher to teach 7th Grade North Carolina History, 8th Grade Geography and 9th Grade Ancient Civilization, beginning in the 2020-2021 school year. The successful candidate will create interactive lessons and projects that demonstrate mastery for all students.
Have advanced mid or higher knowledge of History, especially North Carolina History
Be instrumental in contributing to the growth of the History curriculum.
Adaptive and willing to adjust to differing student needs.
Create hands-on, inquiry-based, project-based lessons that build excitement for subject areas
Maintain assignments and grades for students
Be available for student extra-help
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with students, parents, colleagues, staff, and administration
Sustain an online grade book for students and parents (weekly)
Attend all History Department and Divisional meetings
Participate and seek out professional development activities to increase knowledge of subject area
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in History required (Master’s degree preferred)
Three-five years of History teaching experience at the middle school level
Independent School experience preferred, but not required
