The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are recruiting a faculty member to join our team as a Pediatric Pulmonologist. Appointment will be made at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank of the Adjunct, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Clinical X, or In Residence faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.
Qualified candidates will possess a Medical Degree and License, Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine and a demonstrated interest in the care of children with broad respiratory disorders.
Clinical responsibilities include providing comprehensive care in the ambulatory and inpatient care settings and performing bronchoscopies. Teaching responsibilities include clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary includes 6 pediatric pulmonologists, 2 pediatric pulmonologists/sleep physicians, 2 advanced practice providers, 2 registered nurses, 2 licensed vocational nurses, 2 social workers, 3 dietitians, 6 respiratory therapists, and a pharmacist.
We provide inpatient and outpatient services and are equipped with the state-of-the art pulmonary function and exercise laboratory. The Division includes the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) accredited Care Center and Therapeutic Development Center, and an accredited Sleep Disorders Center with an 8-bed sleep lab. Faculty members have clinical expertise in cystic fibrosis, severe asthma, primary ciliary dyskinesia, childhood interstitial lung disease, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, sleep disorders and technology dependent care. Faculty members additionally participate in interdisciplinary clinical programs with colleagues from Neurology and Cardiology (neuromuscular disorders), Otolaryngology and Gastroenterology (aerodigestive disorders), Hematology/Oncology (bone marrow transplant and sickle cell), and Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension. The Division participates in CFF and NIH funded clinical research. We have ACGME-accredited pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine fellowship training programs.
