Position Summary The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is recruiting multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The following areas of research expertise will be emphasized in the search:
• Computer Engineering/Embedded Systems
• Musical Audio Engineering
Appointments to the faculty of The University of Alabama are based on the personnel requirements of the University’s academic programs and on the goal of achieving and maintaining excellence in its teaching, research, and service/academic citizenship activities.
Detailed Position Information The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Alabama (https://ece.eng.ua.edu/) invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions across all domains relevant to electrical and computer engineering. Candidates seeking positions at all ranks are encouraged to apply. Candidates with particular research emphasis and interests in the areas of (1) computer engineering or (2) audio engineering with an emphasis in musical applications are of particular interest for one or more of these positions.
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have a Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the date of appointment. Applicants must show potential to establish a quality research program, publish in refereed professional journals, collaborate effectively with other faculty, and excel in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Applicants must also meet all university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Preferred Qualifications Particular interest will be given to those candidates with expertise in computer engineering and those in audio engineering with an emphasis in musical applications. The successful applicant must demonstrate a strong external funding record, publication record, and Ph.D. graduation rate commensurate with appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication skills.
