North Cross School is partnering with institutions abroad in order to offer their high school students educational experiences modeled after that of an American independent school. We aim to prepare non-American students to excel in an American university setting. Students earn dual diplomas, and most will pursue higher education in the United States or the UK. 

Located on 77 acres in Roanoke, VA, North Cross School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory school in its 79th year of providing the best teaching available in Southwest Virginia. Serving students as young as 3 all the way through to high school graduation, North Cross strives to promote in every student personal integrity and responsibility to the greater community. Upper School students are encouraged to pursue academic, athletic and artistic achievement, which results in opportunities for placement at many of the nation’s top universities.

Now in its eighth year, North Cross Shanghai has grown to over 300 students. Its graduates have gained admission to highly competitive universities such as UVA, NYU, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, Mount Holyoke, SCAD, Bard College, Franklin and Marshall, Boston College, Purdue, Case Western, and Ohio State. North Cross Shanghai’s curriculum offers students both the rigorous Advanced Placement course sequence as well as the A Level track, and students enjoy a more robust athletic and extracurricular life than is typical in Chinese schools. Instruction is in English. 

We seek dynamic teachers excited about the prospects of living and working abroad and about collaborating closely with cosmopolitan teams of talented teachers from a wide range of countries. Candidates should be enthusiastic about developing new programs and contributing to rapidly growing international collaborations. We have particular need for teachers prepared to teach English (all TOEFL areas plus literature), Math (algebra, precalculus, AP Calculus AB and BC), Biology, Environmental Science, and Social Studies (US history, world history, human geography, economics, and AP Micro and Macro). 

Teaching certification plus two years of teaching experience. Master’s degree preferred. ESL training or experience strongly preferred. Enthusiasm and adaptability a must!
