Position Description

The Department of Geography in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington (Seattle) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position. We seek a health geographer whose research and teaching focus on disparities in health, well-being, and equity. Any regional specialty welcome. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to and expand our curriculum in innovative ways. Anticipated start date is September 16, 2024.

Washington State Law requires that this ad list a binding salary range. The base salary range for this position will be $9,250 - $13,000 per month on a 9-month basis ($83,250 - $117,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

The Department of Geography consistently ranks among the top geography departments in the US. Our department includes faculty and graduate students who conduct internationally recognized research and over 400 undergraduate majors. Our research and teaching collaborations have transformative impacts from local to global scales, confronting urgent challenges of our time. UW Geography faculty engage in research, teaching, and service. Tenure-track faculty in Geography have an annual service period of nine months (September 16-June 15), and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Qualifications

A PhD in geography or related field, or foreign equivalent, is required by the start of the appointment.
