Rutgers New Jersey Medical School seeks applicants for the per-diem faculty position in the Health Equity-based curriculum. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D., MD/DO, or equivalent degree in Family Medicine, or a related discipline. The successful candidate will demonstrate mastery of the requisite knowledge to teach across multiple systems. The faculty would join a cadre of teaching faculty at Rutgers NJMS who teach foundational science in the pre-clerkship curriculum across Years 1 and 2. The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Serve as a Learning Community Facilitator
Facilitate small group sessions for Healing, Humanism, Health Equity I and II longitudinal doctoring courses for Year 1 and 2 students respectively.
Facilitate small group case-based discussions, physical exam teaching sessions, and Teaching Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (TOSCEs).
Grade and provide feedback on written and oral presentations, communication skills, and other written assignments.
Participate in faculty orientations and faculty development sessions to help the Learning Community Facilitator hone their own teaching skills.
Fulfill other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Assistant Dean for Pre-clerkship Education and/or Associate Dean of Education.
