The Department of History, Geography, and Philosophy of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor of African American History. The preferred applicant will teach graduate and undergraduate African American history courses, specialized graduate-level courses, and courses that complement our other departmental offerings. The successful candidate will research and publish in their respective area of specialization and will work with colleagues to assess and improve curricula. Further, as a member of the faculty, they will demonstrate institutional citizenship through active engagement with the department, college, university, public, and professional communities.

PhD by the time of appointment is required. Teaching experience and publications are desirable. Successful candidates must be committed to working effectively with diverse student populations.
