Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Political Science, in the Department of Political Science, Sociology, and Geography.  Appointment is to begin August 2023.  The anticipated rank for this position is Assistant Professor. 

Requirements for the position include:

• Ph.D. in Political Science, Politics, or Government (ABDs with appropriate assurances of completion date may be considered)
• Ability to teach courses in comparative politics and international relations, as well as the introductory course in American Politics
• Ability to teach the department’s course in data analysis and quantitative methodology
• Evidence of effective teaching and commitment to continued professional development
• Ability to work collegially with other faculty members and staff in the department and across campus
• Affirmation of the mission of Texas Lutheran University, a nationally recognized institution of the liberal arts and sciences in the Lutheran tradition (ELCA)

In our selection, preference may be given to candidates who also offer one or more of the following:

• Interest in contributing to the institution’s general education curriculum and in teaching classes that support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals
